i like it when books use C RAZY analogies to illustrate EE. For instance, in my wonderful borrowed falling apart Pierret, the dear old man states

"For memory purposes, minority carrier diffusion into a sea of majority carriers might be likened to a small group of animals attempting to cross a piranha-infested stretch of the Amazon River. In the analogy, Lp and Ln correspond to the average distance the animals advance into the river before being eaten."

Isn't that cool? Do you think if I made that analogy during quals I'd pass?

I've got a few of my own.

Trapped electrons and holes are like a little mime in an imaginary box... "I'm trapped I'm trapped!" Ok, it is funnier when I make the hand motions.

... And then when they recombine it's like they're sneaking off to a secret rendezvous and run into each and BAM! they're both gone. Bad electrons and holes..

*sigh*
